Dieppe makes it two in a row on the strength of a 5-2 win at home vs. Campbellton. Solid 60 minutes effort with five different players finding the back of the Tigers net, including one of the better celebrations of the year from Mathieu Martin, who after seeing his shot from the point find twine did a manoeuvre that was about 2 parts Mike Foligno jump, 1 part "awkward guy on the dance floor". The back end of this home and home goes Friday night at 7:30 up in good old C-town.
Cats are back at it tomorrow at the Coliseum, facing the pop-gun offensive that is the Rouyn Noranda Huskies. Is it just me, or do the Huskies always - and I mean always - have a potent offensive lineup? From former Cat (and Alpine) Pierre Dagenais, to Alex Giroux, to James Desmarais to that dubious attitude in a jersey called Mike Ribeiro all the way down to Brent Aubin, the Cornet/Caron line and now JS Dea and a boy named Sven, the Huskies (when anywhere better than mediocre) can put the puck in the net with acute regularity. Even many of the Dmen were offensive with guys like Jonathan Gauthier (the one who was once a Cat) and Ivan Vishnevsky creating offence with extreme prejudice.
The only question is, will the raging beast from the east that is Ivan Barbashev totally lose it once again and take on all comers in a repeat of this already classic Cats moment:
Congrats to RA Dickey on winning the NL Cy Young award... one guy on the continent that throws the knuckleball and he wins the Cy Young... somewhere Tim Wakefield is doing charity work and smiling.
